Oi! - The inital stimulus for a Women's Day came from New Zealand in 1893, as they were the first country in the world to give Women the right to vote
- The first International Women's Day occurred on March 19th, 1911 after Clara Zetkin (Leader of the 'Women's Office' for the Social Democratic Party in Germany) proposed the idea of celebrating a "Women's Day" (the year before) to show support for women's demands

- Word of mouth helped spread International Women's Day across the world (of course we are great at word of mouth right?!)
- Meetings were organized in towns and villages everywhere...men stayed at home to take care of the kids (Freedom at Last!)
